Diversity & Inclusion

Initiates chapter Diversity activities.  Arranges a “Diversity in the Workplace” seminar or program. Identifies diverse HR professionals in an effort to help increase membership diversity.

HR Management Conference
Director:  Robyn Knox, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Plans and executes the HR Management Conference.

Legislative Affairs
Director: Lucas Asper, JD
Makes legislative presentations at Chapter meetings. Drafts and communicates Chapter position on legislation that has an impact on HR. Keep members informed on legislative alerts.

Director: Donna Gaddis
Actively recruits new members.  Implement and maintain new member orientation and integration program. Provide Chapter support for student programs and activities.

Professional Development
Director: Marilyn Messer, SHRM-SCP, SPHR

Employment Assistance Subcommittee
Chair: Ed Parris
Provide employment assistance to GSHRM members.

Certification Subcommittee
Chair: Stephanie Brown, SHRM-CP, PHR
Provides PHR and SPHR certification information to membership. Awards certification scholarships for first ten members who pass certification test. Secures certification approval from HRCI and SHRM for programs.

Ogletree Breakfast Series Subcommittee
Chair: OPEN
Coordinates the Ogletree Deakins breakfast HR Law certificate series.

College Relations Subcommittee
Chair: Kelly Scheib, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Subcommittee Chair serves as liaison between student chapters and GSHRM. Provides career guidance and resources necessary to educate and advance the HR profession by building strong and active student chapters.

Mentoring Subcommittee
Chair: Kelly Scheib, SHRM-SCP, SPHR
Develops and coordinates mentoring program.

Senior HR Leader Roundtable Subcommittee
Chair: Steve Nail, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, RCC
Schedules and coordinates roundtable meetings for senior human resources leaders. Members with at least 10 years of HR executive experience may contact Steve Nail to inquire about joining this group.

Arranges sponsorship of social hour at meetings and events.

HR Awards Subcommittee

Coordinates HR Professional of the Year and Lifetime Achievement awards.
GSHRM Cares Program

Arrange for correspondence, flowers, etc. with members during times of need.

Strategic Planning
Director: Nancy McCartney, MBA, SHRM-CP, PHR
Updates 3-year strategic plan on an annual basis.

Workforce Readiness Council
Director: Beth Wood, MHRD, SHRM-SCP
The goal of the Workforce Readiness Council is to invest in our talent pipeline by:

-Engaging in collaborative relationships
-Advancing key workforce development initiatives
